Cold Air Feed

Featured Replies

After buying some cold air feed pipe for my car a started looking for a funnel for the front bumper but couldn't find anything i liked so i'm in the process of making one.

What do you think so far?

I will be covered inarbon fibre when i've smoothed it all out.

i should be getting the carbon fibre on tonight so fingers crossed

It's a nice looking duct, but you did know that the left-hand grille under the headlight is a cold-air intake for the air cleaner (and also holds the horn and exterior temperature sensor)?

yeah i've moved the horn out of the way and i'll be making a hole in the funnel for the sensor.

once that side is done i'll be thinking of doing one similar for the other side

Good points Ken but I wouldn't think it would have a negative effect on any of them. Maybe the temp sensor will read a degree or two warmer. Theres only a small hole about the size of a 50p on the original vent anyway.

Just my 2 cents.

That could be bad, that side needs loads of air for the smic

As Lex said, there is already a large duct behind the grille insert on the drivers side to funnel the air straight at the intercooler. I'd stick with that and just use the passenger side as the cold air feed for your air box or CAI... unless you are fitting a FMIC?

good piont about the drivers side. i might scrap that idea . cheers for the concern.

It all makes more sense now; If I go that sort of route I'll be getting a Carbonio, at least partly to free up some of the space the airbox presently uses.

i used to have one but because the weather isn't that great over here i decided to move the filter up into the engine bay. Least i know in the back of my head that if i need to go through any deep puddles i can.
