parking sensors and VagCom

Featured Replies

Can anyone please tell me how to check which sensor is playing up using VagCom. I have an intermittent sensor and when I went to dealer they could not check the car whilst the problem was there as they did not have a machine available - they were all being used. I am booked in for friday next week for them to have a looksy. I had a problem 2 weeks ago with the long beep and they changed a sensor. They then worked for 5 days and now I have this intermittent fault. When engaging reverse I get the normal short beep but then it beeps continuously as though I am parked right up against a wall. If I reverse for say 10 yds with nothing behind me this beep really does get on your nerves. I have borrowed a Ross Tech lead and laptop and want to check myself when the problem exists. Then print it out for the Dealer. I have never used anything like this before so could you please give me the basic steps from start to finish. Much appreciated in advance.

Kind regards

Just do a full scan:

Plug the lead into the car, then into the laptop, start up VAG-COM (VCDS) then turn the ignition on.

Click on Auto-scan

Select Chassis Type - pick your car from the list 3U - Skoda Superb (IIRC)

The click start.

Hi again

I have now completed a full scan whilst the problem with parking sensors was present.

I had ignition switched on but in "park" would this matter?

Anyway the scan is attached in both TXT and word format. I see there are a number of faults listed. The only problem I am aware of is this parking sensor issue. The speakers work fine but again whilst carrying out the scan I did not have CD on.

Can anyone interprate the logs attached ofr me.

Thank you

Regards
