2001 fabia comfort 1.4MPI is it 8v or 16v?

Featured Replies

Hi all... im buying a fabia tomorrow, but the seller has quoted me a 16v engine, but i saw the car advertised as an 8v..... does anyone know what engine this car will have:confused:

MPI = 8v engine. Avoid if possible, thirsty and low on power. If you are on a budget the 1.2 12v petrol is better (designated HTP on the boot lid - more efficient but with similar performance) or try to stick with the 1.4 16v petrol or a diesel. If you are in any doubts, the engine cover has the engine type emblazoned across it.

The Mpi is the 8v, Personally its fine, but as the above poster states, its not the most powerful of cars.

I love my 8V, feels like it's really having to work to pull the car along... some people don't like that but i thinks it gives the car character!

The 8v is less economical and not worth as much as the 16v
