Hello from a Rapid fan of old.

Featured Replies

Hi good people of the Skoda forum.

I owned a Rapid 136 for a few years until 1998 and always remember it as being great fun - a pain to own due it breaking down (if only there had been forums on the web in those days things wouldn't have been so bad) but still great fun. Oversteer can never be a bad thing - certainly keeps you awake!

I would really like to get hold of another Rapid as a 'weekend' and summer car but, from what I can see out there, they are a rare beast these days. Can anyone tell me the best place to look for them, how rare they are, what sort of premium they command these days and if it's worth looking for one?

I used to be a member of the Skoda Owners Club too, but sort of lost interest when the Octavia made an appearance.

Welcome :)

:) Welcome.

:cool:The Owners' Club and Briskoda are very cool groups to be members of!

I'm considering selling my Mk1 Rapid 120, a VERY rare car, [even more so than the 136] only because I just have too many and I use that one the least. It's quite a bit different to the later 136.

Ah, so there are some still alive. I know the burgundy one in your photo is not the 120, but it's the spitting image of the one I used to own! Brings back memories.

So, what's the story with the 120? A bit of research tells me only 90 were made which doesn't sound good for me if I'm loking to pick up a bargain :).
