No surprise it cleans tar when it's mostly White Spirit, Xylene (Common car paint thinners) and a salt of Benzene.

I used Tardis for the first time over the weekend. It is excellent stuff but wear gloves and wash away the mess. I got mine from here: http://www.prestigepolish.co.uk/item/Autosmart_Cleanse_Autosmart-Tardis_0_0_114_0.html overall cheaper than Polished Bliss as well.

Sometimes you have to get harsh to get rid of such deposits.........

I'm sure you do, but when dealing with that I'd want a well ventilated area, gloves (not rubber gloves) and potentially even an organic filter.

The reason I say not rubber gloves is that stuff can get through latex gloves and you build up a layer, if you then go near a flame or something hot, the vapour will catch fire.

I've seen pictures of the results of that when I was studying chemistry and they used it as a warning to us when using ethanol :eek:
