After reading this thread i realized this is a quick and simple mod that i would find useful.

However on the Superb the wiring loom for the front fogs is a different colour than the Octavia II.

So the MKI Superb is as follows.

Terminal No.8 (Thick) Yellow/white is the front fogs

Terminal No.9 Grey/white is the rear fogs.

The back of the light switch can be accessed through the fuse box cover and (providing you understand how the pins are held into the plug, and have a tool to release them) it's a 5 minute job.

Just take the light swich out by pushing inwards and turning the kn0b clockwise. No other dismantling is then required.

Why on earth would you want to change the very logical (for a change) system which VAG have adopted for these lights? Front foglights should always be used in accordance with the law, but they can't dazzle anyone.

I agree with the first bit, but if the highlighted bit was true then why would the police bother to stop chavs who drive around with front lights on?

Front fog lights DO DAZZLE when they are not needed - especially on a wet road.

In the 2 years of owning my Superb i have never needed the front fog lights on without the rear one, yet i have needed the rear on without the front.

Rear fog lights are to so you can be seen, whereas front fog lights are to see with.

Only when they're badly adjusted methinks, the point of them is to shine down on the road under the fog so as not to illuminate the fog in front of the car and blind the driver, not up into oncoming drivers eyes. If they're dazzling people they're doing the wrong thing..

Again if they're causing dazzle off the road surface they're badly adjusted because they're pointing downwards.

Why Citroen decided to make those lamps so bright is beyond me.
