Fitting a VW rns 510 into a Skoda

Featured Replies

Hi, I've attempted to look for a similar artical but couldn't find any. Can you fit a VW Rns510 into a Skoda Octavia II (2008). I'm pretty sure that it's probably a pretty obvious answer, but it looks exactly the same hehe. Anyways, should be a simple one for you guys. Sorry just new to Skoda, as it is new to Australia also.

Thanks!

Jacob

It'll work fine just been in VW graphics.

I was tempted to get a VW RNS-510 for my Octy.

Mainly because at the time I was looking to buy the Skoda units were flying off the shelves and were nearly £200 more expensive in some cases.

However in the end I decided it would annoy me having all of my dash lights green and then the large RNS510 displaying red.

So I waited and went for the Skoda unit.

I've just got hold of a 2008 model RNS-510 (VW version - for £625) for my 2008 Skoda Octavia. Very pleased to report it just plugged in and went - no probs! Bluetooth phone kit works fine, and AUX in put works ok too. Only issue is that of the missing graphics on the parking sensor module - but beeps are still present. I believe there is an upgrade route here - but may be a bit tricky?

Very happy with the ease of upgrade (30 mins) and the sound on the new unit compared with the Stream HU is amazing. Well worth the money and i would highly recommend the upgrade! The missus is still cursing me though for spending my bonus on the car and not her! ;)
