switched live help

Featured Replies

just about to fit my nokia ck-7 phone kit onto my new vrs tomorrow

Have got the autolead telemute- just not quite sure where to connect the blue wire ignition live- have heard dark mutterings of the fusebox below steering wheel but which wire? presumably scothlok connection will suffice?

Also, do I need to swap two connections over on the telemute lead itself- something about the vag cars being **** about face with switched and permananet live

thanks in advanace

Look at VRStu's site for the connections info.

I would suggest you defer the install until such times as you can get hold of a repair wire from your dealer, these will plug directly into the fuse box and allow you to get a supply from there. You may also need a plug and certainly another repair wire for the radio mute.

Try the search, there is some good info with pictures as well.

There is no switched live on the back of the radio.

CK7-W does not need the switched live connected, its not connected on mine and I have ha no issues for the 2 years+ its been fitted.

If you leave it disconnected the kit will switch off automatically a few mins after the phone is disconnected. To connect the phone again, simply press the central button on the remote control. If you are going to use the wired cradle then puting the phone into and out of the cradle switches the unit on/off. Using the unit like this the ignition does not need to be on for the kit to work.
