Octavia vRS Hatch Mk2 Towbar (08)

Hi all Newbe!...needing some info please:)

Just got a 08 Octavia vRS Hatch Tdi , which is so much fun! ... (company car, Thanks Boss)

Need to fit a tow bar with single electrics, would prefer Swan neck/detach

This is where i need help!

What fits?? have been quoted 250 quid for a detach from tow equipe....any body found anythink cheeper?? (will be fitting myself)

Electrics.?? will go for plug and play...any advice would be welcome

By the way , and you all know this!...The vRS IS a fantastic bit of kit!..had a large choose of cars on list from work and had to ask for this to be put on!...what a result!..

I have a fixed swan neck Brink bracket on my 57 vRS TDi Estate, having the same on my 09 vRS CR hatch that I get next Sunday. Fitted with twin electrics cost is under £400 from a local specialist.

Had no problems with the current bracket which has done 5000 miles with the caravan attached.

Thats the towbar i got for my VRS albeit a petrol one just a few weeks ago and it is superb.

The towbar is completely invisible when removed and the electrics swing/pivot out of the way when not in use.

The towbar is very easy to use.

The electics were very easy to fit using the kit i bought. I couldn't be bothered to rip the car to bits for the plug and play.

I looked long and hard for the right towbar for my car and eventually settled on this one and I would recommend it to anyone. Havent even needed to cut the bumper so i'm chuffed to bits.

All that was from towbars direct. They were great to deal with the delivery was very quick and when the plug for keeping cr*p out of the reciever was smashed to bits when it arrived they promply got Westfalia UK to send me a replacement which arrived the next day.

It may arrive in a bag marked up bosal or something else as they double bagged it just incase for delivery, that happened with me and i thought to myself this could be fun i'm sure i ordered a Westfalia but all was sweet in the end.

So if you havent done so already get the westfalia bought.
