Hands free kit fitting

Featured Replies

Just fitted hands free nokia ck-7w kit

On previous cars, it integrated into the display so that phone was displayed on the dash

On the vrs, it doesnt- even though I used a telemute lead

Howver, it works fine otherwise

Is this normal

Oh and it was a right pain to fit- quite tricky to reconnect the air bag, aircon and glovebox light to the glovebox whilst shoving all the extra wiring and connectors behind, and so on

I dont ever want to do it again- I'd rather shove wasps up my ****

You'll have to use the extra connector and cable to trigger the phone mute on the radio in the Octavia.

The cable you have might not have this.

the mute works fine just dont show up on the dash

and now i notice that the airbag warning light doesnt go off when i start the engine- although it doesant indicate airbag fault

obviosuly have done soemthing with the passeneger airbag connection when refiiting glovebox

bugger!!

Probably because you had the ignition on with the plug disconnected.

yes- just wondering if i diconnect the bvattery and then reconnect will it clear the fault code and switch the light off??

I would imagine you'd need to run a full VAG-COM scan and then clear that fault, or get the same done with dealer diagnostics.

Steve

It should display Phone on the CD Player, but it wont do it on the dash unless you've got the VAG bluetooth phone intergration

I've got one fitted in my octy tdi sport. works fine and shows "phone" in display.
