a quicker octavia !

Featured Replies

hi ! i'm the proud new owner of a octavia mk 1 vrs.recently had it re mapped, but due to no rolling road, am not sure of my exact bhp figure ! i'm guessing it's somewhere in the region of 200bhp - 220 bhp ! what else is there that i can do to make this skoda even quicker ? it's still not in the same league as focus st's and astra vrs's ! etc ! any comments appreiated ! thanx !

Anyhow relating to the question there is heaps of info on here, get the right mods and your beating Porkas around the ring let alone pikey VXR's ;)

BHP isn't everything. It doesn't take much to sort the handling and brakes out on the octavia then you will have a great all rounder and will beat them quite easily (on the track)

yup focus on handling which will allow you to use the power you have better before focussing on more power.

brakes & handling is'nt the issue ! what i've got in that department is't an issue ! it's more power & speed i'm after !!!!!!!!!

handling is'nt the issue at the moment ! i've no problem with that ! what i need is ? more powert/speed ! then deal with any handling problems afterwards !

then depending on budget;

CAI

Exhaust - Decat etc

then Big turbo with associated bits

but a mapped VXR and ST are going to be close to 280-300bhp and similar torque so youll really need a big turbo conversion to get that power.

Well mines standard and it's not far off mates chipped s3 and same as mates focus re which has been rolling roaded at 212. I was told it was standard anyway but it's had replacement engine that awesome gti did......

If thats the case then, start looking at FMIC and bigger turbos. But it's not going to be cheap
