final drive gear oil change

Featured Replies

i drive an octy with the 01M 4 speed automatic. Read on some other forums that the gear oil for the final drive ratio is separate from the ATF.

Has been changing the ATF regularly, but don't think i've ever changed the final drive gear oil.

What's the recommendation oil change interval for the final drive gear oil? Can't find anything on this even in the service manual.

I SUPPOSE YOU OWN A 4X4 MODEL,IS THAT RIGHT?

FOR THE FINAL DRIVE YOU SHOULD USE A FULLY OR SEMI-SYNTHETIC GEAR-BOX OIL SUCH AS SAE 75W/90 GL-5.

FOR EXAMPLE VALVOLINE 75W/90 GL-5 OR LICQUI MOLY 75W/90 GL-5.

I CHANGED IT IN MY OCTAVIA[1.8T 4x4 2002] AT 45000KM AND IT WAS REALLY BLACK.
