iPhone Location

Has anyone on here got an iphone cradle/dock in their Octy?

Pictures would be great too.

I'm wanting one but I really dont want to make a visible hole in my dash if I remove it. Any non-invasive cradles out there (non-window suction as well).

Cheers!

Have a search for Brodit Proclip phone holders. They have adapters designed for most cars that will not require sticking holes in your dash. I have one in mine that sits to the left of the stereo, slots in nicely using the space between the glove box and dash.

Brodit do a system where you buy the holder for your phone and car adapter seperately. I have the iPhone holder in mine with the connection pass through. Very handy. :)

I can get a picture for you later if you want, but it's in a mk1.

Shame they dont do a centre console one for the MK2?

I like the idea of the right hand vent one, out of the way yet visible!

Do you have your pass through wired into the car?

Oh but they do. Search they're site, there are 2 locations to chose from, side dash vent clip or side center console clip. I also think there's one lower down next to the handbrake somewhere.

Hi Andy - i have the Brodit setup in mine for the iPhone. No pics to hand though - sorry.

If you are in the area then let me know and i'll show you the setup i have. In fact - i have a spare Brodit for the centre vent, and have my Tomtom setup on the vent to the right of the steering wheel. All using the Brodit stuff.

Anyway - let me know and you can have a play - see what you think.

Cheers,

Ste.

Its either this or get a parrot that displays the persons name whos calling?

That way the iphone 3g can stay in my pocket!

Hmm, decisions, decisions!

Stu, i'm in Baildon on Fridays at around 3ish? Not that its crucial for me to see but these brodit things look good!

Hi Andy - well - i'm home from work about 3.30pm on a Friday if you wanna meet up or whatever.

PM me if you want my address.

Only thing i would highlight is that a cradle/dock/charger combo works well for me and keeps the iPhone charged, as i use the iPod feature (via AUX in) and bluetooth all the time, plus the iPhone battery life ain't the best.

Do you have a 3g iphone or a generation 1 iphone? I'd be interested to know this as i'm looking for a compatible car dock/charger for the 3g iphone.

thanks

Hi Will - i have a 3G version. Both cradle and mount from Brodit. Not the cheapest - but works well and easy to fit.

I bought one of these, and it's spot on:

SKODA OCTAVIA No Holes Mobile Car Phone Bracket on eBay, also Car Kits, Other Mobile Phone Accessories, Mobile Phone Accessories, Mobile Home Phones (end time 31-Mar-09 17:42:31 BST)

Alternatively, check car phone brackets: Parrot Bluetooth car kits, Brodit cradles and Holders: Smart Phone accessories for their own designed stuff or Brodit Proclip Satnav Smart Phone Mobile Mounts Brodit Accessories - Handnav Technology Ltd for a good Brodit stockist.

But the one I got is as good quality and was far better value (and I've had Brodit and Dashmount brackets in many previous cars).

Steve
