PowerBulbs Power Plus H4 50% more light

Featured Replies

After having a pair of Osram Nightbreaker 80% more light bulbs I have moved on due to a high cost of bulb and low life expectancy approx 5months.

Having done quite a bit of research the Powerbulbs PowerPlus H4 bulbs didn't have any reviews anywhere however the 50% more light and the offer (at time of writing this) buy 1 pair get 1pair free & 1pair of blue sidelight bulbs free made the decision for me. This also meant that I now have x2 spare sidelight bulbs and x2 spare headlight bulbs.

Right, Heres the Clicky to the PowerBulbs website where I bought them from.

After fitting these I instantly noticed a great difference in the amount of light offered against the Osram Nightbreakers however after the first 1 hour of use they seem to have settled in and provide much more light and the light offered is a nice bright white light.

Comparing these to the Osram nightbreakers they do offer a little less light as the line on the road at the end of the beam is a little less noticeable. Other than that there isn't a noticable difference in performance of these bulbs, they don't reflect back in the snow or in the rain.

The car these were tested in is a Mk1 (04) Skoda Octavia

The below photos were taken at 5:55am on an unlit country road from the inside of the car, I appologise for the blurryness, I rested the camera on the dashboard but there is a little vibration inside with the engine running. No flash is used and the camera was set to Night Scenery.

I'm going to give these a go. I just went back to Halogen from HIDs as the halogen gave a better throughput of light, but they're aweflul yellow now. Hopefully these will give better light and be a little whiter
