Anyone got a Toshiba 32XV555 1080P LCD TV?

Featured Replies

Hi all, sorry for starting another thread.

Did start a thread regarding a cheaper toshiba 26" tv a while since, looking around for the same sort of price especially the samsung screens the 32" is the same price as the 26" screen.

So thought id look at 32" screens, now ive been in the local RicherSounds today.

I was blown away by the quality of the Toshiba screen i mentioned above, now its £100 more than what i was looking to spend. Im willing to pay a little more, if it would make for a tv that would make it more future proof as to speak. (Currently using a 14 year old Bush Portable TV ;) Just no scart sockets or hdmi hehehe.

Im really looking for a quality screen, as i plan to use blu ray in the future. My main objective for the screen is to be linked to my HDMI graphics card, to play films and use as a larger monitor when i want to lay back and chill out.

I've been reading on the AV Forums that if your not sat within 4metres then you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 720 and 1080. But i will be sat around 3-4metres.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Not bad for the price.

Went back to purchase it earlier, and the guy was willing to do me the LG with the better contrast ratio and the wall mount for the same price as the Toshiba the wall mounting and adaptor plate.

Then it dawned on me that the stand didn't stand out far enough for the tv to be at 90 degrees to the wall.

So came away empty handed :(

LG?

Only times I've seen them the colours have been very bad. Gadget show slated them in the last HD test they did.

How much are they charging for wall mounts? Amazon do good ones for under £30. Lot of retailers fleece you with ones that are over £100!

I know the one in asda is £40 and will mount up from 75 to 200 screens.

The wall mount i was looking at would allow you to run the wires throughout the internals of it, which was something i quite liked about the stand.

Thinking of buying the toshiba screen with the asda stand, there 10% of the screen price warrenty is quite good. Like for like replacement, for five years.

I read on AV forums that RicherSounds were always very keen to push the LG gear, so Id be wary of it.

Otherwise I have the 37XV555 and its fantastic, although I have never had a HDTV previously so it could like giving a 17yr old a Nova:rofl:
