I know nothing about bush...es!

Featured Replies

Hi All

Bit of advice please

Cousin carried out 40k service and cam belt change on my 04 Fabia yesterday

All is good but has advised that the "front wishbone bushes are cracked and as the front ARB rusty that might as well be changed at the same time"

Obviosuly trust his judgement (he is a VW trained mechanic after all) but are these the bushes that can be upgraded to the Seat items and any ideas how much a new ARB is?

Thank in advance

Cliff

Theres two bushes per wishbone, one at the front and one to the rear. Its the larger rear (or console bushes) that are replaced with the Seat Cupra items. For the front the best replacement would be a Powerlex type, available from Awesome.

If you need any further information on part numbers and method there is a 'how to' in the guides section.

Hope that helps :)

Not sure which ones it was that are cracked :( but ta for the advice, guessing if the ARB is being changed it might as well upgrade them all??

The guide goes right over my head but might direct him this way and see what he thinks!

"Wishbone bushes cracked" will mean the console ones 99.9 times out of a 100 - and if not, what a good excuse to do them while changing the ARB - that should mean only one wallet hit for four wheel re-alignment.

Its always good to check up on your bushes - you never know what is going on down there!
