L&k tyres

Featured Replies

HI All

I picked up an 07 'Octavia 2.0 TDI PD Laurin & Klement DSG Estate' with 23,000 miles on the clock from Ingram Skoda (Ayr) on Saturday.

The weather was pretty poor heavy rain etc. but I noticed that the traction control cut in 4 or 5 times on the way home especially at roundabouts.

A new experience for me as previous vehicle was an Audi Allroad 180bhp Auto.

On getting home I checked the tyres to discover a brand I had never heard of "KAISER KENDAL RADIAL"

Has anybody heard of these tyres ???

Hiya.

No, and they're already making me think of Woosung Dark Spin, er Horse tyres!

It is possible to get the traction control to cut in even on almost new and well-rated tyres if you've got a sufficiently flooded road!

Oh and check out the Scotland forum in the ragional fora area!

Call this a tie Davy; you'd not posted when I opened the thread, and I did type more?

Nope , but they would probably be found in the "4 for £100" bargain bucket!

Time to buy some new rubber I think.

Uniroyal Rainsports are particularly good for wet weather performance - ideal for summer :D

hello and welcome

Sorry - I should have posted 'KENDA' as the brand and 'Kaiser' as the model.

Makes no odds; I've still never heard of them in this context!

I'm running Toyo Proxes T1-R all round on an Elegance (same car bar different wheels and leather on the L&K). The only time I've ever had traction control go off in the wet other than full torque starts on a turn it was so wet I think I'd have needed monsoon tyres to cope with the river running across the road!

Mine actually has uniroyal rallye 550 on there at the moment which aren't quite as "sporting" a tyre as the rainsport but they still have excellent grip in the wet.

There's a junction I turn right from on the way to work that's often much damper than the surrounding roads and it was very noticable that the Uniroyal tyres gripped much better than the factory fit Dunlops - you could accellerate harder with no wheelspin - so compared to your ditchfinders they will be in a different league.

They cost me £230 for a set of four fitted and the fronts lasted about 22k miles on my PD140 - the backs look like they will be good for 45k
