taking the pi$$

I got insured via quoteline direct, fine you may say. Right my renewal was due on the 1st of sept i paid

My experience is that renewals never remain competitive

Isn't it because they think that they've already got your business and is therefore some kind of excuse to rack the premium right up ? I'm not sure that moving house will have caused the inexplicable rise.

I only went with them this year. So this is my first 7 days of insurance with them that's why I am pi$$ed off!!!!!! The women started going on about introductory rates, and my comment was "well i'm only on day 7 of the policy and I haven't even got my proper certificate yet!!!!!!!!"

Nice to see you've made the leap down south (except for the insurance premium ofcourse :()

When I moved from Woodford Green in London to a rural Oxfordshire village, Endsleigh insurance wanted to increase my premium. I pointed out that this was stupid and they waived the extra fee. Then when I moved from Oxfordshire to N.Ireland my insurance firm was not happy because they do not quote for N. Ireland (the bigoted ******s), but in the end did cover me for the rest of my year, but would not offer a renewal quote.

If I was an insurance company, I think I probably wouldn't offer cover in NI either. It's nothing to do with who the customers are, just to do with the unacceptably high risk level. It's just business.

The risk in N.Ireland is not significantly higher than in many parts of the mainland UK. In fact car crime is lower than in most UK cities and accident rates are now lower than average as well. The only thing that makes N.I worse is the standard practice of automatically covering driving in RoI. As I drive there about once in every 5 years, I would be happy to forgo this and have a decent choice of insurance company.
