After 50-60K service hint

Featured Replies

Hi all,

just to point your attention to this: if the service comprehended diesel fuel filter exchange, be careful to any diesel smell within your Occy.

If you smell diesel there is a non zero probability the seal of diesel filter hasn't been properly seated. I've been told this seal isn't so easy to be placed, even by authorized Skoda service. If so, Diesel will pass the seal. So, after making the engine bay dirty and smelly, it will make your alternator/service belt slipping and the belt might break (as did mine).

You will see the battery low signal, as the alternator won't be anymore charging the battery. Honestly I had plenty of charge to run for another 50+miles and reach a Skoda service, but... better to pay attention immediately after fuel filter exchange.

Hope this helps and avoids to temporary drive ugly cars like a... Fiat Croma... aaaarghh.
