Meguiars Endurance Tyre Shine

Featured Replies

I hope someone can help, I washed the car on Sunday morning and I've just got back home after nightshift this morning and noticed loads of black dots all over the front wing, door, etc! It doesn't half stand out on a silver car!...

Now I didn't go out on Sunday in the car or yesterday until 10pm last night so the Megs tyre dressing I put on would've been dry but it seems to have spun off the tyres!

I used to use Autoglym, Turtle Wax Extreme in the past and had no problems really...

I use a little bit of sponge to apply it and don't overdo it so I'm open to suggestions on what to do next!...

Another thing, I've read on here that a water-based tyre dressing should be used! Is the Megs one water-based? If not anyone know what product is?

Cheers in advance folks!... :)

Never had that with Endurance really, maybe a little on the wheels after the first run out occassionally.

I'd say you perhaps used a bit too much product, for it to travel as far as the door. Obviously if there's still too much sitting on the wall tyre after its dried in, it will just spin off the tyre when you first drive it :)

I use a microfibre pad to apply it (and I personally only use it on full details or for shows), then when I've gone round all tyres, lightly go over the tyres again with the other side of the pad to pick up any excess, but without wiping it all off....

Not sure on the make-up of Endurance. Check the Meg's site, and if it's still not clear drop them a line - there's details on the site and they've always been good with replies when I've had stuff to ask.

Water based go on easy and leave a nice natutal finish. The gel based ones are thicker, last a little longer and have a glossier finish.

On that basis I'd say Endurance isn't water-based then, as it's a thick gel. I used some today :)

I use this and never had that happen , are you sure you didnt drive thru some soft tar without realising??

Yeah I'm pretty sure I haven't, I drive the same way to work and never had the problem before so I think I just maybe put a little too much on and paid the price!

Just been into Halfords this afternoon and while I was there, picked up some new Muc-off sponges designed to apply tyre shine, so we'll give them a bash!... ;)

I have never had that problem - and Lissy is silver. But then I do have my mudflaps still so that *might* make the difference?

probably layered on a bit thick, i always apply it then leave for half an hour then rub off the excess with a cloth. megs endurance is a bit of a pain for it unfortunately.

agreed, endurance lasts ages but can lend itself to a little overspray onto the body, especially if u are running wider wheels or fatter tyres.
