I need some help on a problem with the parking sensors for my 03 Octavia vRS. I asked my dealer at the last service to have a look at the rear parking sensors as they had stopped working. He diagnosed a faulty control box and said he would order one. Well, it has been a few months and it hasn't turned up.

I thought that I might have a go at fixing it myself. Is it a straightforward job? Where is the unit located? Does anyone know the part reference for the reversing sensor control unit and where the best place to order it would be.

I would imagine that the control unit is a sealed box, and stripping it apart maybe difficult. I believe the control box is in the hatch under the passenger side carpet trim just above the CD mulichanger. Sometimes a leak in the hatch can cause the unit to fail. I have an aftermaket one that I fitted, that the control box failed and I ended up fitting a replacement.
