What is a good quote for alloy referb/re-colour?

Featured Replies

I've just completed an online quote and got the following price, £275 inc. vat. This quote includes Strip, refit and balance, plus full referb and re-colour to matt black on 16" fabia vrs alloys.

How does this sound? A fair price? Just over £68 per wheel. The company is called 'The Wheel Specialist' based in Fareham, has anyone had dealing with this company or heard any reviews??

Thanks for any help.

Bit more than i would pay.

Around £150 to £200 max.

Yeah I have read a few bits and bobs on here about BJV Engineering, by all accounts they are the mutts. Its just a shame that they are so far away from me. Looking for a reputable firm in the bournemouth - southampton area. Sorry no doughnuts for you :)

Place near me charges £45 a wheel + vat, to do full strip downs, cut back & repaint, lacquer, etc, and then even refits the tyre and balances it. :)

hmmm, I don't know why but I'm finding it really hard to find some where down here. Think I'll have to pay the extra premium rather than travel miles. :(

I got some discount codes for the Wheel Specialist, as they have a few branches including one here in Manchester and I'm on their mailing list. They're offering 25% off orders with the wheels on the car, and 35% for loose sets, until the end of April. So worth a try :)

Use the online quote system and enter the appropriate code:

· Use Code SPRING09 for sets on cars

· Use Code LSPRING09 for loose sets

They do tend to be pricier and I'd probably use BJV if I was closer. But I know people who've used them and they've been happy with the service and finish. This was the Manchester branch, but I'd have thought they would strive for consistent quality across their branches :)

Just tried the codes, unfortunately these don't cover the Fareham branch. Thanks for the post though!

Ah well, it was worth a go :)

Have you registered your email address with them? In my experience, if you log your interest with an initial quote for refurb, some discount codes usually come your way before too long ;)

Yeah, I got the quote from them yesterday via the website. I'm not desperate for the work to be done so I'll hold my horses and see what turns up in my inbox ;)

If you can find some thing else to run on for a while you could take Lummox and Andy up on their offer, use wheel couriers to transport the wheels both ways AND save money!

I know what your saying, but I would need you buy a second set to run on in the mean time. This would probably cancel out any saving?

Where's that Jason? thanks.
