hands free mic mounting

Featured Replies

I had a nokia CK7 bluetooth hands free kit fitted to my car (work paid for it). The mic is mounted behind the interior light grill bit (you may see now how I broke it . . . .) but the mic is awefull!

The guy has just ripped the standard nokia housing apart and stuffed the mic in behind the grill. Anyone know if there is a custom/model specifc housing that will fit properly for the fab? it seems most VAG cars use the same light so thee MUST be something!!

ta!

I tried this on my Octy and it was CR@P as you say. I ended up putting the mic back in its Nokia shell and sticking it over the little grille with a little piece of sticky-back velcro. The wire comes out at the edge of the interior light housing and is almost invisible.

I tried soundproofing the mic inside the light housing but it was a non-starter. Sound quality was still unusable.

:( As the installer said. Looks liek I am going to have to put it all back together.

reallly annoying as you can see what the grill is there for, but it seems useless.

I think some sound proofing arount eh mic would help, but it really is a crappy set up . . . .
