Oil levels

Featured Replies

Just a quick question, just checked my oil level today and found its down at the minimum mark??my car is on variable service which was done last April so still 12 months to go,I check my oil level regular and its never really moved from middle mark.Car drives fine,no warning light,no oil on drive. So question is ,can i just top up oil and carry on driving till next service,or take it to stealer(warranty runs out next month)or,could there be another issue:confused:Thanks in advance.

top it up yourself, your service book will state what oil to use. i usually get my oil if needed from the shell garage (shell helix) the one that you will need (as there are many different ones) will say on the front recommended for VW/VAG's and you wont need more than a litre.

Thanks for the quick reply mate,my last octy never lost a drop:confused:.I will pop over to garage today.

Just make sure the oil is either VW 506.01 or VW 507 approved and you wont go wrong.

Incidentally, this level of oil consumption is not atypical of VAG cars. Well, that's what a dealership will tell you anyway.
