Storing an exhaust

Featured Replies

How is the best way to store an unused OEM exhaust which is in 3 sections?

Flexi downpipe + CAT

Centre pipe

Backbox

Laid flat?

Stood Up?

Should I cover the holes up to stop spiders/bugs etc from making a home inside?

I don't want this to become damaged but it is likely to be stored for a couple of years or more.

It the OEM exhaust

hmm, ok you aint ever gonna stop that going rusty, but it is better to store exhaust upright because it stops condensation collecting in the silencers/baffles.. tape over the end that is facing upwards

Doesnt make a difference what or who makes a home in it. It'll be like gale for 7 and heat like Australia when it gets back on. Do you tape your existing exhaust up when you aint using your car?

No, I don't tape the existing one up when not in use but then it's not stored on the floor.

I was being sarcastic..........:)

Yep, i'm a tight wad.

might aswell keep the OEM one to put back on when I come to sell the car as the miltek one will be more desirable to sell on.

if the wife doesn't know they soon find out. My youngest boy went under our bed this morning and started playing with a cardboard box, SWMBO took it off him to find out what it was, I've now been busted
