Alpine HU's - i'm a bit stuck!

Featured Replies

ok so i've found....this...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39755&item=5719276217&rd=1

on ebay...and numerous other alpine HU's. but i have a query. will i need a CD changer for these? the cheaper versions - range is here http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/default.php?cPath=2&sort=5a&filter_id=11

all seem to have a CD slot at the front, where as the more expensive ones don't.

i'm a little confused...any help would be greatly appreciated

Basically, the front will flip down to reveal the CD slot..

so you wont need a changer :)

Yeah, Colin's right...has little motors that slide the front down... :)

thankyou :)

I wouldnt buy that unit listed on E Bay, its not a UK or even Europe model !!! You can tell as it supports 'XM' radio which is a USA feature ! You'll get a UK spec one for about

PS Any Alpine headunit with an 'E' in the title does NOT support any CD changer. Anything with 'M' will run an 'M' Bus changer (No MP3). Whereas an 'A' unit will run the Alpine MP3 changer. There is only backward compatability from an 'A' unit back to a 'M' changer and not the other way round. Hope this helps.

Anything with 'M' will run an 'M' Bus changer (No MP3).

Though there is the M-bus converter which will allow a newer changer to be used on an M-bus unit, so you can get MP3s to play... ;)
