Stereo for Octavia estate

Featured Replies

Hi,

hello everyone.

I'm new to skoda and to this forum. Just bought a 55 plate octavia estate 1.9 4x4 - its fantastic, best car I've ever had - they really are the greatest secret in motoring

anyway - ive a lovely stereo with a 6 disc changer in the boot but want to add a 3.5mm jack lead so I can plug in a DAB radio and/ or ipod (my 10yr old daughter has a load of talking books on it) and was wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction. I dont want a whole new stereo with ipod connectivity and all that jazz because i think the existing radio is great and looks smart and blends in especially with the LCD display.

so can anyone help with where I could go, I'm wary of dealers and paying over-the-odds so would really appreciate some support/ ideas

Live in worcestershire so if geographically that helps then even better!!

cheers jez :)

Which headunit do you have as this will dictate the routes you can take.

Just a thought, I don't know if it's really a viable option, but I have the MY08 2.0 version and it has a "jumbo box" that includes a 3.5mm jack. I don't know if it's possible to get one of these and install it in a 1.9?

Hi, I have a Stream radio that came with my VRS estate.

it was connected to the AUX socket in the Jumbo box and multi boot CD changer, and also the reversing sensors showing the range.

I have replaced this unit with a Columbus 510 sat-nav.

I also have the silver VRS surround but it is for Dual Zone climate control.

It all works and I have the book for it.
