Just got VRS rims, and Sports suspension info

Featured Replies

Got a package in the mail today for the Octy, a nice set of 18 inch VRS rims, now Im a bit wary of fitting them just yet as the car might look too high.

Can anyone give me some info on the sports suspension that came fitted with the pegasus alloys?

Is it upgraded shocks and springs? or just lower springs?

I cant quite afford to splash out on Coilovers at the moment, so considering some springs just.

Not sure if the sports suspension is just springs, but witht them the car is a similar height to the vRS. As long as you get the right tyres for the wheels the car will look fine.

If it is of any interest, I have a set of VRS springs and dampers looking for a good home.

Taken off of my 06 VRS estate with less than 4K on the clock at the time, they’ve been sitting in my shed since fitting the FSD / Eibach combo.

I swear mines is higher than a VRS, Im tempted to get wrinklys VRS setup, is the estate the same as the hatch?

Of crinkleys car is a petrol then they will be no good for your diesel as the diesel engine is much heavier and your car would sit too low and the front and the handling will be all wrong.

Doh, ok, looks like a set of Eibach springs then (I can put on FSDs later).

are there any other options other than Eibach?

Don't think that's correct.

vRS is lowered 10mm from standard (elegance, classic etc.) whereas 'sport' suspension, which are eibach springs, lowers the car by 30mm.

My Elegance had Sports suspension and Pegasus Alloys that were fitted when I ordered it. Looks the same height as my vRS to me - both diesel and both with DSG.

AFAIK the Skoda (original) sports suspension is lowered by 15mm and the VRS is lowered by 12mm compared to standard.

The aftermarket springs are mostly minus 35 mm (from standard) or even 50mm. (H&R for example).

That is why putting -35mm springs in a VRS will only lower your car by approx 23mm.

I would be curious to see are there any that are a good compromise. would be nice not to have to upgrade to coilies just yet
