I bought replacement rubber for my rear wiper blade but can't pull the old one off, any tricks you know?

i'm guessing you are talking about the standard blade, and not the Polo one

i changed the rear rubber only on a number of occasions before i swapped to the Polo one

just bend the blade rubber just enough to unhitch it from one end , then just pull it out , swap bits over and refit in a similar fashion
