anyone else suffered like this?!

Featured Replies

the nightmare of my dealer saga is still going! 2 weeks ago they bent the seals on the under side of the car while having it up on the ramp the type where the arms swing underneath. complained and they said they would repair it, booked in for this friday to be done by an outside firm. i asked today when i went in to have the original fault sorted out if this would still be covered by skoda as it was someone else doing the work. NO this will be covered by the dealer and they will do it only this once as it was MY fault as the car is lowered (not too much i might add). i said so that makes the car somehow heavier does it? 'yes' shook my head then she said ' the arms wont fit underneath' ok i will raise before we come in each time how about that? 'it's upto you if you bring it here' anyone else had their seals bent by these ramps? when we had an a3 it was nearly on the floor and never had this with audi on the same type of ramp. HELP needed should i call skoda uk or will i get 'the cars lowered so sorry!' :(

ITYM "sills", yes.....?

right after ringing round some other dealers all said lowered cars aren't a problem, clearance needs to be 5 inches mine is 6+. so i am feeling a bit better might give skoda a call!

It doesn't matter what your car is the dealer shouldn't damage it.

Yes they can say "Sorry we can't work on it because its lowered" but they can't damage your car then say it's your fault.

If they refuse to repair the damage or pay up then it's time to get your insurers involved and let the legal department do some work.

Cheers

Dealer has duty of care to ALL vehicles they accept for service. If they are incapable of servicing a lowered car, then they should not accept your business.

i used to use a garage near me when i had the Renault, he used to put it on little blocks of wood cause it was too low for the ramps but i never had any trouble with it or him.

sounds like they let some garage gimp put the car on the ramps and he didnt put the lifting arms in the right places.

makes me laugh the extent some garages will go to to try and get out of something.

well i went back yesterday as the engine warning came back on AGAIN anyway fault shows as the part they replaced yesterday!! the service manager decided to come up to the service area and i'm afraid it all kicked off! while we were in there i said to the tech about getting it on the ramp he said it went on ok so there goes her too heavy/too low theory. now a skoda approved repair centre is fixing the sills after seeing the manager and he will be looking into why after admitting last week it was their fault the sm decided it was mine and told me 'you dont have to bring it here!' turning away business tut tut.

Crumpled Sills is a regular problem with "VW" cars - the Galxy site is full of such stories. MY Alhambra has a slight bend and has only ever been jacked up by the main dealer.
