Engine Management Light

Featured Replies

The Engine Management light came on yesterday on my Vrs, but NOT the glow plug light) I took it to the garage and with the diagnostic equipment connected, it came up with "glow plug relay implusible signal." The garage (Skoda Main Dealer) said that it needs a new glow plug relay. The car is driving and starting normally.

I have searched on the forum for this fault and I can't find much (acutally anything) about this specific fault) Is it a known fault with the relay or is there going to be something more sinister?

I am rather peeved as the car is 2 months out of warranty (I have had it from new) and has just had its 30000 mile service (200 miles ago!)

Is this bad luck, or do you think that I might have a chance for a goodwill claim with Skoda UK? The garage want 150 odd quid to do this job.

Any comments?

Hi

You could try a customer care claim.....

But to be fair , I dont think they are that expensive are they????

Always wortha try to save money though.....

Thanks for that Sarah. The car is OK now, having gone into Freeborns to have a new glo-plug relay fitted. This seems to have done the trick, and no warning lights on dash now!

Oooh nice one

Did they do you a customer care claim?

Nah - they couldn't be asked.

Shame :( this is where Skoda are starting to slip with customer help ;)
