Hi, My Octavia 1.9 Tdi '03' runs perfectly but am having problems with the windows opening on their own..even when driving along.

I had the regulator replaced on the passenger side but the windows were going nuts just before and are now worse.

I have to use the key in the 'lock' position to close all the windows but that does not guarantee the windows still being closed in the morning. Or the battery being charged enough to start. Kind of a problem without a garage.

I'm thinking it might be something to do with the wiring somewhere..the loom..(is that the convenience unit?)

Have just read a few more posts and it seems that the problem may be water grtting into the control unit in the door. I have all the windows going in all directions when I'm adjusting (or trying to) the wing mirrors.

This is not software or key fobs or human error. When you are driving along and the windows start doing acrobatics when you haven't touched a thing, it's not human error!!

I will suggest this to the mechanic and let you know if there is nobody else that an enlighten me?

I had the same going along the M62 - very disconcerting! Turned out to be water had got into the window switch as my then infinitely wise housemate had got into the car when it was pouring with rain and left the door open! Why he did that beats me!

Water/corrosion in the door loom I would think.
