A very special detail.......(pic heavy)

of my beloved Mk2 Octavia vRS TDi. :D

All of the following was done so that my car could be used the wedding of Skodaboy and Skodagirl on the 5th April.

In the week leading up to the Friday I polished and waxed the wheels, vacuumed out the car, cleaned all dash surfaces, polished the areas around the door latches and hinges with AG SRP and applied some AG Leather Care cream to the leather bits....obviously.. and pressure washed the worst of the muck off ready for it's treatment on Thursday night.

Then on the Thursday afternoon I vacuumed out the car again and then loaded up the car with all I would need to clean, polish and wax her again. Also making sure I remembered to pack my suit etc.

So then I arrived at their house at approx 6.15pm and then the fun began. First up was some food as I was starving... Then with the help of davy for following was done.

Light rinse with water.

Washed using 2 BM and Ag shampoo and a Meguiars microfibre wash mitt.

Rinsed off and dried with the help of Waffle weave towels and some Megs Quick deatailer.

Clayed using a Megs Clay kit. We then moved to a garage to continue the process.

Polished using my Kestrel DAS-6 machine and Menzerna Final Finish polish.

Then Dodo Juice Lime'd. Using a Megs applicator pad and Microfibre.

Then waxed using Collinite 476. Using a Megs applicator pad and Microfibre.

So the results are as follows......enjoy. :D:thumbup:

So after all of the above at approx 11pm....

Not a bad reflection for the time of night...

And as we stopped at a cash machine on the way back to his house..

So I called that a finish and parked the car up and heading inside for a rather enjoyable, and large, vodka and coke......which went down very nicely, and off to bed.

So I woke up on Friday morning at 7am to this sight...

Wed015.jpg

So I got out the Quick detailer and a couple of clean microfibres and dried off the dew and then set to work sorting out the little jobs. So started with some AG metal polish and did the exhaust tips and front grill...

So now it was dry I was left with the following results..

So with all of that done and the interior trim cleaned again with some dash wipes and the car generally dusted down and windows cleaned twice it was time to put the ribbons on, so as to attract as much attention as possibly for Hannah...

And here's the two wedding cars ready to take the bridesmaids, Hannah and her Mum and Dad to church. The Fabia belongs to Mudpuppy..

And here's the beautiful bride herself just after walking down the red carpet.

So here's the happy couple after tying the knot

And posing with the car....

And even the next day she was still looking shiny, and transferred the ribbon onto their car as they set off on honeymoon....

Thanks for that. I really enjoyed doing it, despite swmbo moaning all week saying are you still doing it? I really love it more when it's all shiny and clean, love the colour. I found when I got home and downloaded the pictures I had 90 including doing the car and the wedding..

I would like to say thanks to you for your advice and to those who have gone to the trouble of making guides for us amateurs to follow...:D:thumbup:

Ian,

The car looked stunning and glad to have been of help in preparing the car for the big day, certainly beats getting all boozed up the night before your wedding, the car looked fantastic and myself and Mrs Skodaboy really do appreciate the amount of time and effot you have done to the car to prepare it for our big day.

davy
