Looking for a vRS to buy....!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've just joined the network, after years of having VW's, Audi's and other numerous (and not so good) makes I have finally seen the light and decided that a vRS is the way forward.

I am currently without a car after selling my passat 1.8T and mk 2 Golf GTi and I'm currently driving around in my wifes Pug 107, (995cc's of mayhem!) so I need to sort out a car pretty quick to keep my masculinity from declining any further.

So I'm in the market for a mk 1 Octavia vRS, either hatch or estate (would actually quite like the estate) and I've got about £3k to spend, which I know isn't a lot of money but its all I can spare at the moment.

I've seen a few vRS's around for what looks like very good money, but I don't know what I'm looking for. I saw an 03 reg estate on autotrader that looked very smart, 1 owner from new, full skoda sh etc. and a cambelt change at the last service..... but it has 149K miles........ its priced at £2795........ would you???

If anyone knows of any vRS's for sale, im in Hertfordshire and I'm getting desparate. (for a car that is)

Cheers

Wayne

3 grand should get you a reasonable one but you will have to a lot of shopping around if you want one with low mileage and as new as possible.

Cam belt / water pump need changing every 4 years or 60k whichever comes first.

Not sure I'd be happy to go for a 149k one, although there are a few vRS's on here in the 100-120k bracket (myself included) the wear and tear really starts to show. If you can afford another £300 on top of your budget there are a few 80k-ish examples on Autotrader at the moment.

shame your budget is low mate, cos RichieVRS is just gettign ready to sell his 05 plate with just under20k on it, cruise, parking sensors, xenons the works :orb_sad_2
