Vag-com or OBDII reader

I'm looking to buy a code reader for my cars (Fabia I & VW Lupo) but I'm not sure what is the difference between a CAN VW/AUDI Memo Scanner (U281) and a CAN OBDII/EOBDII Memo Scanner (U480).

The OBDII is said to be compatible with all cars (including VW's :confused:) and the VW reader is said to be compatible with other CAN Protocol cars. They are both about the same price (£20-£25) and I wonder if:

- they are exactly same with two different names

- the VAG has VW specific functions that the basic OBDII does not have

- the VAG will not work with other cars at all (In case my next car isn't a VW :sorry:)

- the OBDII will not work with VW's.

Any help would be appreciated.
