Best air filter for 1.4 Mpi 8v?

Featured Replies

Im looking for a new air filter for this and was wondering what the best filter to use for it, in terms of improving MPG and performance? Id say im sticking to a panel filter as Im not overly keen on using an induction kit to chavvify the little Furb :thumbdwn:

I've got a pipercross induction kit.

Improved mpg a little if I didn't put my foot down!

Plus sounds pretty nice.

Some people just put a green cotton filter in the panel filter which i think is the most affective for the vrs.

Try a sock;)

:o Sorry about the induction kit comment I made earlier! I did think about fitting one, but I figured Id get lead foot syndrome and burn more fuel than I put in, as my MPGs only just reaching 25 at the moment!

Ive thought about using Green filters, as I heard the oil from K&Ns can get sucked into the engine?

The best filter wll be a standard Skoda paper one for you, you are not going to get more power that is noticeable on you 1.4. You'll just be restoring the engines original mpg & bhp with a nice clean filter, not gaining any.

Would a cheap paper one from Halfords be a safe bet then?
