Grumbling on driving????

Featured Replies

Ive got a 110 TDI and for some reason its sort of grumbles on driving, when you put your foot down.

I know its not the fly wheel and i have got a rear wheel bearing gone which will be replaced soon.

Any ideas on what it could be or how i could find out?

Ive always had BMW´s or rear wheel drive cars so im at a loss as to what it could be so is my mate who works for BMW!

I just wondered if it was a drive shaft but im not sure it would make this kind of vibration, noise!

Dont they usally click or clunk when they are gone?

Just at a loss as to what it can be, also it seams worse sometimes than others which doesnt really help find out what it is.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Dan

It obviously sounds like a bearing of some sort. but sorry, I can't help you out any more than that. Does it increase/decrease when turning corners?

And let me be the first to suggest SWMBO

SWMBO? if thats th dog bone ive done that recently!

Its does not change in sound if you go round corners or zig-zag the car(move the cars weight around)It only does it on giving it gas!

If you drive normal or knock it out of gear and coast then it doesnt do it

And let me be the first to suggest SWMBO

I find thats more of a whining noise which increases with speed
