Fabia 1.4 timing belt

Featured Replies

I was looking at a 2002 1.4 petrol Fabia today for the wife. It had 59000 on the clock and was wondering if the timing belt had to be replaced at 60000 miles like the TDi's? Also are there any other things I should be looking out for?

MPI or 16v? MPI is a chain.

Sure it was the mpi. It's the 8v 68bhp I'm sure

Yes 8v MPI is a chain. uneven idle speed is normal on these, although the temperature sensor can be faulty. Leaking rear door carriers is a common problem. the only other problem I've had is both the front window regulator broke within 6 months of each other.

lol yea what he said up there! altho i dont have toooo much of a leakage issue in mine. but expect it to st st stutter! Just gives it character :)
