Fabia VRS ESP Problem

Featured Replies

My recently purchased pride and joy has blotted its copybook by setting off its ESP light around ten minutes after starting the engine,it does not matter if the car is driven or left standing ticking over the dashboard comes on,all the tyres are matching Goodyear f1.s the ABS seems to work etc,was just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Have you run it up on diagnostics? It is odd the fault shows without the car moving at all. If you're near Unit18 I'd give them a shout, the Fabia vRS Estate Unit18 Edition has ESP too :)

If you have vagcom/VCDS it's worth running a scan and posting up the results, that will definitely help troubleshoot.

You are positive it is not the Check Engine Light but the ESP light?

Any work done on brake fluid etc recently?

That light covers a multitude of sins. Get the codes read asap.

As an example my 'coil' (heater plugs) light came on recently.

Turns out this was warning me my brake light switch had gone

I know ! Sat there with all sorts of thoughts running through my head as to diagnostics running, say, every ten minutes to check the heater plugs. Looked at handbook, said go to Dealer.

Luckily 'my' garage was only two miles away and they have computer with fault data on it. Disbelieving to some extent we checked the brake lights - and sure enough inoperative.

Afterwards, knowing I'd driven 2 miles without brake warning lights I was miffed there was no warning about this in the handbokk as I could have ended up with someone in my rear - and it would have been my fault.
