Octy 2 and ipods

Featured Replies

Currently i have a V reg TDi, but due to my forthcoming redundancy i am thinking about getting a newer mark 2 Octy. (there is some logic)

I have fitted an Alpine headunit to the current car which means i can use the ipod. I have also had newish Golfs for work and they have come with a socket into which you can plug an ipod. I am guessing this features on some Octy mark 2's??

Any idea if and when it appeared?

My Octy II has the stream MP3 headunit and an AUX port in the jumbo box to plug my i-pod into.

thanks, what year is that? just trying to get an idea of what year i should be looking at.

I think the AUX socket came fitted to the jumbo box from MY07 onwards. My old elegance was a very late MY06 and it missed out.

MY07 cars are from about June/July 2006 onwards IIRC.

Elegance and L&K models have the jumbo box fitted as standard. Quite a few vRS models have it as well due to the free upgrade Skoda offered on that model.

If you are looking for it, lift the jumbo box lid between the front seats and there should be a small square plastic flap with 'AUX' written on it in the upper part of the box, there will be a 3.5mm jack hidden under it

I'm using LiquidAUX™ Deluxe for iPhone and iPod. This plugs into the cigar lighter & also has a remote which attaches to the steering wheel. You then plug this into your aux socket with the supplied lead. If you plug your ipod directly into your aux, then you can get variable volume depending on how well you have ripped the music.

using this levels it out so no need to constantly change volume.

It also charges your ipod/iphone.

My 56 plate vrs has the jumbo box and aux connection.
