VRS Not firing

Featured Replies

05 Plate octavia vrs 60k, on starting up first time last Sat drove to local shop on way to work about 1 mile journey. On returning to car it turned over but would not fire three times this happened, after a 1 minute wait it started first time? I did not have my foot on accelerator at time. Car has not given a repeat performance so far!

Anyone out there had similiar or have any ideas?

Cheers

I recently had similar problems with mine. Is the immobiliser light on the dashboard blinking when it did this? That was the problem I had, happened randomly about 3 times in as many weeks and was accompanied by a fault code each time.

I tried a cold reboot as recommended by Ross Tech's site and it has been hassle free for several weeks now.

No dash light's, what's involved with cold reboot? Also spoke to Skoda who are ? a coolant temp sender unit. They said about getting in for diagnostic check but it's been fine since.

Cold reboot is disconnecting battery leads and touching them together for 15 seconds. It completely discharges the electrical systems of any residual current. As I said mine was an immobiliser problem and it seems to have sorted it as I have had no repeat of the problem since I did this.
