Electric window failing

Featured Replies

Hello

Have been having problems with the electric window on the passenger side for some time now, it goes up and down but not neccesarily in the direction you are pressing the button! Today is refused to go all the way up, even with a bit of help and suggestion :thumbdwn: Finally managed to get it to work long enough to close it, but have been quoted about £170 for the part to replace it and another £100+ for labour

Anyone know where I could get the part (the motor I think for the window riser) wihtout having to rob a bank first? And how easy or had it is to do? Would it be possible for a fairly intellegent but not done work on car before kinda girl?

Thanks

Jo

Local scrap yards are good for bits, I take it you have a Felicia. Also Jorily on here is a parts specialist and good value as well.

breakeryard.com should also be able to help and i'm pretty sure if you can get interior panel of the door you should have no probs

Thanks, have emailed them and am waiting for a reply as to whether they can provide the part. My sister has brought me the Haynes manual for the car as a present, so will see if I can figure getting the door panel off as is no obvious screws or whatever to do this, and then see if can sort it without paying the stupid prices I've been quoted!
