P0172 and P1141 Fault Codes

Featured Replies

I have now managed to read the fault codes from my father's 02 Fabia 1.4 MPi. I have a P0172 System too rich (Bank 1) and P1141 Cross check range faults.

I understand that these could be due to the MAP sensor. Is this right or are there other things I should be looking at? Where is the MAP sensor on this car?

Thanks in advance

Possible Causes

Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) OR Manifold Pressure Sensor (G71) faulty

Vacuum Lines faulty

Possible Solutions

Check Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) OR Manifold Pressure Sensor (G71)

Check Vacuum Lines

Check Engine Operating Conditions => Meas. Blocks

Special Notes

Uwe: I think this code is set when the airflow being measured (or otherwise calculated) by the ECU doesn't make sense given other operating parameters such as RPM and throttle opening, manifold pressure, etc.
