I've just checked the oil on my 3 month old fabia thats done 2300 miles, the level is about 1cm into the marked section on the dip stick.

Do I need to top up the oil or is this level OK :confused: , I'm going to be doing 500+ miles in the next couple of days so I want to be safe.

the "marked section" is only about 7mm from top to bottom are you reading the dip stick properly?

You should be looking at the "dotted" area not the bend in the dip stick.

Refer to your user manual

I would put some in , but do not go above the top mark. Something about damage to the catalytic converter if you put to much in.

See above post the measurement area is between the two bends!

I hope I'm reading it right, I'm a bit of a muppet when it comes to car maintenance but if I can't use a dip stick there no hope.

The level is about 1cm into the dotted section, I'm off to the dealers now to get some oil to top it up.

make sure you get the right oil

mine needed about 1/2L of oil to bring it back up to "full" at about 4k miles
