Fun engine 1.6

Featured Replies

My Fun 1.6 engine is coming to its end. 124000. Do you know what car has the same engine so I can do a swop. Also I need a new radiator? Skoda have said £133 WOW I was hoping £40 at the most.

I do believe it's the same engine as in the 1.6 petrol felicia hatchback, estate and pickup models :)

(the fun is the felicia pickup with... errr... more "fun" added!) :gapteeth:

Someone should be along shortly to confirm this though!!

Hurrrrr

Yep same 1.6 engine found in the hatchback 1.6 Felicia and other VW cars.

You need a new Radiator? look on Ebay or scrappers. Unfortunatly my dead Felicia is sold now so my scavenging mission is over.

How do you know the engine is coming to an end?

VW Polos and Golfs also used the AEE engine, although they used bosch electrics, where Skoda used magnetti marelli. It was also used in some Seat`s. What is wrong with your engine?

you can use a golf engine but you need to swap a few of the bits over, but you will have all this stuff on your existing engine

Did the early Octavia also use the AEE engine too?

Surely this engine will manage a lot more miles than that!?

yes it did, think it had a few more horses on the octy too

I imagine that will be down to the fueling system and ECU more than anything.

Would have thought there will be plenty of decent second hand 1.6's readily available to you.

Phil

the 1.6 octty only had 75HP, same as the felicia.
