Hi all I have a 2001 51 octavia Vrs with the airbag light on have read it with a fault code reader and it is coming back with 65535 U48023 Internal control module memory checksum error. Have done some searching around and it appears a new module/ecu is needed. What I would like to know is can I fit a 2nd hand unit from a diffrent car? Does it need coding to the car? I have located a 2nd hand unit with the same part no 1c0 909601 could I just swap these units over? Is there any danger of the airbag deploying?
