Check your brake discs

:eek: Had a look at my rear brakes at the weekend on my Octavia 1.9 TDi ( y2000 ) as they had a squeal (done 66000mls), and measured the thickness of the discs, one was 7.1mm and the other was 6.8mm, and the heynes manual says the minimum is 7mm so I fitted new discs on both sides. I then checked the front vented discs and they are about .5mm above minimum ( 19mm ). So keep an eye on them as the caliper piston might come out if they go below minimum. cheers - Stuart.
