Sorry if this has been discussed before, but is there a known problem with the info stem of tke skoda octavia? Mine seems to only intermitently work - particularly the rocker at the end that is meant to cycle through the display info.

There was a known problem with the cruise control functionality on the indicator stalk. Some people have had the stalk replaced but there is also a DIY cleaning / repair procedure. Take it to a dealer if its in warranty or have a look at the DIY instructions for the cruise control stalk if it's out of warranty - you might also have someone plug VCDS into it and check for any intermittent error codes.
