Radio

Featured Replies

Ok my radio has just stopped working (well it works on certain channels but its a very weak signal) on my wharfedale unit everything works perfect the dvd player and the aux works fine.

I've just plugged the original radio/cassette in and the radio is very clear.

Maybe the amplifier has gone?(that blue adapter)

Yeah, that's my first thought as well.. can't think what else it could be apart from maybe the head unit it's self?

Ye my mates got the exact same headunit so were going to try that in his T25 with all his cables to see if the problem is with the headunit before I get a new PC5-52 aerial amp.

I was wondering the only reason I have my aftermarket head unit is to use the aux so do you their's anyway I could get aux to go with the standard radio/cassette?

Their is an extra plug in the back of the radio?

I think the 402 & 502 cassette units had CD changer control, which I do think you can use the connects2 aux in box with... you'd have to email or phone them to check though if no one knows on here.

TBH, the amps in the Skoda units aren't great.. You may be getting better sound from your Wharfdale so I'd A/B them first to make sure you wanna go back to the factory unit before following this route..

The factory units do look nicer in the dash though ;)

Ye it looks better and I dont think it's noticable differance in radio and the interface on the wharfedale isn't the best.

How much is this connects2?

£30 - £40 depending on where you get it and if it's shipped or not.

Yeah, lol.. my job consists of listening to the difference between one piece of audio... and the same piece of audio with processing applied so unfortunately I notice these things more than most..

Like you say, it can't be that much poorer or I wouldn't have kept the factory unit in my car. I do now have an iPod controlling Kenwood head left over from my Elegance, just waiting for the day I can afford my "other" car for it to go in.. oh man I'm looking forward to that day.. gotta buy a house and prob do the decent thing with the Mrs 1st though ;).... bum, that's ages away then. HAHA!

If it's going to be that much I may aswell just get a new PC5-52.
