Looks a bit ugly to me

I agree. However, one should take into consideration that Pioneer is a quality product manufacturer.:thumbup::thumbup:

Ah ha! When talking to the SEAT dealer about the refreshed Seat Leon he said that the Nav option was only £550 now...

I thought that seemed very very cheap for the MFD3... perhaps this is the unit in question instead.

Although using the seat.es configurator this is how it's subscribed:

SEAT Media System + Bluetooth + Dot Matrix (Maxi-dot) + 2 altavoces adicionales (2 extra speakers) + Aux-in adicional €828

Maybe not then.

You can get one of those from halfords now,

Pioneer AVIC-F700BT / AVIC-F900BT / AVIC-F90BT Review | GPS Navigation Reviews

or even cheaper from here

But these are for a 900BT and the new model being referred to is a 911BT (Oh yes, a little bit of Porsche in my life!). Don't know whether the different suffix includes a different spec, or whether it is perhaps a unique OEM reference number. I wonder whether the dedicated VAG bit will be offered retail? For that price I'd expect Richard Burton to be giving me the voiceover!

im sure the functionality of the unit will be great but as already said, its looks crappy

I'll stick with the Columbus thanks. Still, a little bit of choice isn't a bad thing is it.

Presumably the OEM type unit will have a quadlock connection and be CAN-BUS compliant as it seems it will talk to the ABS sensors.

With this in mind it won't be cheap and will have a hard time against the ebay Columbus units when it comes to a retro fit.

Thinking about it, I think it's all that plane plastic which on the columbus would have buttons and dials.

Being restricted on screen sizes by the height, this means acres of black plastic.

Judge for yourselves ;)

The Pioneer does have the Amstrad look about it IMO :P

The chrome inserts seem to help the Columbus in the aesthetics department.

And of course it has the all important OEM look to it.
